Whatever it takes to get down to <1.090.

SG was 1.090 after i reckoned it finished, have now added water and yeast and its 1.087. Still no action half hour later.
I'll give it an hour then dump it all.

an hour?? wholly he of little patience Batman!!!

If it is now sitting 1.087 you have barely added any water. I would add at east 20 litres if you have the room for it. Give it a good 24 hours at least before worrying about it starting back up. You have to remember it is already alcoholic.
I believe this can be salvaged, it may not be your best shine but may end up a decent bit of hearts.

correction... It certainly won't be your best, even your next will be better.

just went back to see what you have for a still, a Nixon Stone. You should be able to clean this wash up pretty good with it. I f I can pull odourless tasteless alcohol form nasty heads and tails feints mix you should be able to get a decent drop from this.

Hi. I just finished the distilling . It seems to have turned out ok although there isnt a great deal of spirit. 4.5 ltrs of 86 % as an average. Still have stacks of juice left in boiler.
Its drinkable but i cant tell if its good or not so good, gets me sloshed with no headaches etc.
I checked the abv of the remaining wash and its got no alchohol in it.
I collected it in 750ml bottles as thats all i had.
I wonder if its ok to mix all of it together?
The whole period of take off was onle 2 and a 1/4 hrs
The stream was rather long comin out of the tap
The whole column and boiler are very well insulated and i did let it reflux for a while.
Temp was stable all through and rose suddenly so i stopped it, the last bottle is 87% alchohol.
The fores i dumped was 900 mils as i wasnt sure when to stop.
At one point the machine chuffed a bit as i messed with the cooling when in reflux at one point during the run, which brought about a blackish load of product t with bits in !
Think i'll go with another tried and tested recipe next time.
Thanks for your help and advice. :)

How did you clean the inside of your rig before this "drinking" run?

Then you should NOT be drinking this run.
You should Sacrifice this run as now with the High Alcohol it will take out more nasties and crap and final cleaning.
