So, I've not been able to run my still for about 6 months now and will be firing it back up soon. The last run I did I made 2 gallons of apple pie for my dad because I was getting ready to move. I thought I would expedite things a little and used some cinnamon essential oil rather than telling him here you go now wait a couple months for the cinnamon sticks to release their flavor. Worst idea ever!!! I put 4 drops, let me say that again. 4 DROPS per quart of 75% neutral before adding it to the apple pie recipe that I use.
The next day I decided to sample the finished product and holly crap. I took what could have been 2 gallons of my normal good smooth non Hangover inducing likker and produced cinnamon dog shit. Now , if you like hot damn or aftershock you woulda loved this. As for me I hate it.
Fast forward 6 or 7 months to today. I was out in the garage getting everything clean and ready to operate again and came across my epic failure. Of course, I decided to pop the lid and give it another try. It has mellowed out some and has some apple pie flavor to it but the cinnamon smell alone will still knock you down.
That was for everyone to make fun of me and get a laugh because it was funny.
My question is: if I run it through the still with my next batch do you think the cinnamon will stay behind or will it carry over. If it will carry over and I figure it will do y'all think it would dilute down enough to just use it in some more apple pie and it not be noticeable. If the answer to both questions are " throw that shit away " which is what my dad said then that's what I'll do.
Thanks in advance and I hope everyone gets a giggle at my mistake.
