NPK Ratio & pitch ratio?!

Sugar, and all about sugar washes. Where the primary ingredient is sugar, and other things are just used as nutrients.

NPK Ratio & pitch ratio?!

Post by Amin »

hi guys this noob need your advice once more

i read on this forum ppl using npk as food of yeast + dap
so i tried to find the material in my country found 2 sets NPK 30.10.10 and 10.10.10!
i didnt know which one is work best just on a hunch they use nitrogen stuff more bought little npk 30.10.10

mixed it with dap and little citric acid

added 3 tea spoon to my 10 gallon white sugar batch i always added dap + citric acid but never this combination ...
well result was overflowed like 1.5 gallon creamy foam! and made a mess with just that small amount i guess yeast went frenzy or something! :wtf:
here is the picture after messed slowed down on volcano mode!
creamy foam
creamy foam
my questions are did i bought right NPK 30.10.10 or should i go buy that 10.10.10?!
if both are correct whats the ratio of pitching them and dont make volcano next time!

appreciate your help in advance :)

Good to go. 30-10-10 will do fine for you. The higher nitrogen content is probably slightly more expensive, but also more common (easier to locate).

I would use the 30-10-10. Nitrogen is most important. You will not need the DAP anymore. DAP is 18-46-0. 3tsp fertilizer per 3gal is way enough, perhaps use only 1 or 2. But I would add a bit something like tomato paste or cereals.

I use 1 tsp per 5 gallons. I crush the fertilizer beads in a mortal & pestle and pre-soak in a cup of water before adding to the wash.

YMMV.
