You're in the correct place to do just that.
The Archive of knowledge to read here is un-equalled, if you cant find it there ask the question.

Welcome, do you have your still yet? What are you interested in making?
I think I'll go home and fire up my still, it might not make me feel better but, I bet it will

Welcome aboard sdiver40. As You freely admit to knowing very little here are a couple of pointers that will save you time and frustration as time goes buy.
1 Know what kind of spirit or spirits that you want to make before buying or building a still.
2 Consider learning some basic fabrication skills and soldering skills, once you have built one still it is unlikely that you will ever buy one. Also Copper is very easy and a forgiving material to work with.
3 Not all still types make the same sorts of spirits well, you need the right still for different spirit types.
4 If you do choose to buy , ask questions here beforehand , so that you don't waste your time and money buying the wrong one.
5 A cheap still is usually exactly that , poorly designed , poorly made or made by folk with no real idea of how distilling works.
6 Find the appropriate area of the forum and ask if you are unsure of things.........but first read as much as you can.
7 Read our Rules carefully , this can save you some heart ache as you progress in the hobby and interact more on the forum.

After all of that enjoy , its a great hobby that at first seems very simple, but the longer that you are here the more your realize how little you do know.
