Hi everyone. Retired chemical engineer here, last employed in designing and building food plants.
I grow grapes in Southern California and make roughly 50 gallons of wine a year. I’ve been thinking about distilling some into brandy for a while and recently ran across a copper alembic still in a souvenir shop in Portugal. I’m now fixated on getting my own apparatus and trying my luck. Will dutifully peruse all the required reading on this site to get myself up to speed!

Welcome into the fold Karlos.
I am a bit of a fruit fly and enjoy making brandy. Get it right and its very rewarding.
having a potstill in your arsenal is the best tool for brandy distillation IMO.

Welcome Karlos!
We have a very similar background except I'm in central CA. I also have a small vineyard and will soon will be making pomace brandy. I have about 70 gallons of must in fermenters now.
