There will be more evident smearing on small kettle charges.
That's why some parrots have a dump valve.
If your parrot in not integrated onto the PC, make your heads cut, then place your parrot into position.
yes, agree.
myself do not run a parrot and never will. in fact i have a pet hate towards parrots. in my neck of woods guys would spend twice as much on a parrot than a still because they never learned how to identify what they need to know/master in the hobby. they think owning a novelty will make good product. bah.. ok

I've been going over this in my head and trying to visualize what actually happens, but my concern of smearing is that the space on the bottom of the shell will collect distillate until it starts to exit via the 'distillate out' tube. The volume of a cylinder calculator indicates a circle 9" in diameter x 1" tall will hold one liter. (Is this correct? )
I hope I am wrong on this, it's just that this video suggests smearing can happen in as little as 250ml and is what convinced me to stop using my parrot altogether.

By chance is that your 'spirit out' tube about an inch or so above the bottom of your shell?
Following-up on TB's question ... given the geometry of your thumper-to-condenser how are you going to collect product ? It seems both will need to be raised which, I assume, then changes the geometry from boiler-to-thumper.

They won't need raised. Thumper and condenser will sit on a bench( this is for thumper to lyne arm connection). With the condenser scooted toward the edge. Then a shelf below condenser for collection jars. Not any different than a flake stand really, well at least mine

Another visual aid. Like the video, this is " Casey Jones Distillery ". caseyjonesgallerystill.jpg
I used this as inspiration for my build. Seems that some are struggling to picture how it operates.
Struggling? How so?
There were questions about the condenser exiting out the side and how I was going to collect distillate. Since I'm not up and running. I figured a picture and video of the same design might help. Most shotgun pc's are hanging in mid air. Sitting on a table might have thrown them off. Internally they're the same. With the exception being the funnel and side exit. Not insulting anyone.
