Cuts for flavoring
I collected 21-12 oz jars and 3 - 32 oz jars of hearts ( all sequentially numbered) from my spirit run of Birdwatchers low wines last night. It airing out waiting for me to attempt cuts and blending. I want to try keeping some white dog and also do some flavorings from the run. After tasting each jar and deciding what to keep or recycle, is it better to homogenize the run into a single batch then use it like store bought hooch or keep the hearts for white dog and use the early tails and late heads to make the flavored liquors. I'm thinking the latter scenario as the apple pie, fire piss, panty dropper have stronger flavors that would mask the moderate off flavors of the non-heart product. Off the still quite a range of ABV for my birdwatchers wasn't too bad, but the hearts are like water... very mild when diluted. Seems a waste to cover it with strong flavors, but I'm unsure if the mildly heads or tails product will be appropriate for flavoring on their own.
I'm going to try a renewable grain based lifestyle. Beer and whiskey count don't they?

save the hearts. keep the rest and add it to your next run. i think i can taste the tails even in the flavored stuff

I would see what you come up with first. Then decide. If you have never done it you need to see what its like before making calls like this.

Mr. P - That was my thought: taste and decide what to keep, then whether to mix all together or use individual containers for specific concoctions.
