Very fast color...

Post by KSAguy »

.... less than a day and it is Pinkish Red!!

Using popcorn , sugar to make a modified Uncle Jesses's. Pretty darn good for this "neck of the woods" !!

:?:

QUESTION : I am using CROSBY & BARKER heavy toast oak chips AND it almost immediately turns the booze a reddish light caramel color!!

Seems way to quick to me? Could they be adding some kind of dye??? Thoughts? Expereince??

Chill bro -- Your words are vibrating with excitement. I've had liquor color up overnight (lightly) and some take forever to start to develop color. It's the flavor(s) profile that will take the time to develop and mature. You're so excited this liquor don't have a chance but you'll have some down the road that you'll leave alone for a spell and you'll appreciate the taste of a year on oak. You better keep a low profile making liquor over there. Dem SOB don't f**k around with "western" vices.
