Virginia has no love
Hey Im brand new. been checking the site out for a few weeks. looks like a very interesting "hobby". But being someone who used to wear a 1%er diamond and brushing up with the lawmen quite a few times I decided to check out Virginia's Law's and found this interesting article on guys just being busted for having a distilling device, not using it,just selling it on the net. http://www.moonshineheritage.com/blog/b ... mpetition/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

my advice is with your affiliation to dangerous and illegal organizations such as a 1% club i would agree that you should tread lightly around this hobby as there was just a article the other day of a guy that got busted when the police came to serve a warrent and found his set up.
now as for the article the gentlemen in question was not busted it says in fact that he wasnt charged. its not illegal to sell a still that has never been used. the problem is in the manufacture, sale, and transport of the stuff. however, if you sell a used rig on ebay you could be treading a fine line

This is inaccurate. There is at least one state in the Virginia are? Thought it mite be Virginia? That it is illegal to own or sell a still. There is an article around here somewhere in a post. It was about someone in that state getting busted for trying to sell on on Craigslist. I just can't remember which state it was.just-a-sip wrote:my advice is with your affiliation to dangerous and illegal organizations such as a 1% club i would agree that you should tread lightly around this hobby as there was just a article the other day of a guy that got busted when the police came to serve a warrent and found his set up.

But I would agree. If you are in fact a known 1%er I would be very careful with this hobby. But then again if you are or were a 1%er you know all about legalitys with stuff like this. And you may or may not care. But you should at least know that yes it is illegal in the US.
