Water?
Ok some one told me that even though I am fermenting my mash in separate barrels (which I know people ferment there mash in there pots but for the area I am located I don't wanna try this) I want to add water to my mash (beer) that I siphon out of the barrels and dump into my pot...Then another person told me just throw your siphoned mash in the pot and start cooking that you don't add water.... Which of these people are correct or are they both right? And if I do have to add water what is the water to mash rational *scratching my head and thinking this more confusing then I thought for a beginner*.....
Thank You for you help..It is much appreciated.

Re: Water?
You don't need to add water to your mash. Just siphon it out and into your boiler. If you strip your mash you will get what most call "low wines" if these are above 40% abv you will want to add water to dilute it below 40% for a spirit run. You never want to charge your boiler with flammables. 80 proof or 40% abv is flammable. Hopefully that helps you.

No problem glad I could help.
Just a bit of info I left out your mash will typically be around 10% abv. So no fire hazard there.

Sounds like someone I wouldn't take advice from.
And sounds like you have a lot of research to do around these forums.

No I was talking about whoever told him to add water to his wash before he runs it. If o was talking about you. I would have said so.
That is normal. Just means you need to keep reading. When you start having the ah ha moments and the puzzle pieces start falling into place. Then you are close. Don't forget to go back and read the stuff again.
