If it plugs in, post it here.

On/Off switch on pwr controller

Post by WalkingWolf »

I've had my MK-5500 power controller for a few years now and it was built without an on/off switch. At the time there was some debate on the need for an on/off switch and there were many made without them. I was never completely at ease with it and ordered a couple of 30a/240v switches a couple years ago. Never took the time to wire it in and the controller operated just fine. While "digging" around to see what I had available for this build we are working on I came across these switches (along with many other things I had long forgot about) and decided to rework my controller this weekend. Well I just tested it and the on/off switch works :egeek: . What I discovered though is when the controller is powered ALL the way down where we thought there was virtually no power I was still getting 180v at the plug. So although not enough power to activate the 220v element, plenty of power there all the same. Just wanted to caution those out there without the on/off switch -- ya might want to give it a second thought.
