Custom VM 'seagull' tee for flow direction

Post by Manback »

Here's something we whipped up.. it's two 90-degree elbows, each cut and tigged together, then linished down.

The one with the little red dot is the one I'm referring to, the other one is an equal swept tee that we bought.

Don't know if it'll direct any more toward the VM.. but should be interesting to find out!

PS You can purchase these I think, but not in NZ, so improvisation was necessary
PPS There's a return bypass for reflux, so no dramas with increased choke risk in case anyone was thinking that might be a prob

That Y will give about the same performance as a diversion plate inserted in the back side of the T fitting... Would be interesting to learn the performance difference between regular T, a T with a diversion plate, and the Y...

We will see how it goes. The CSA stays the same right to the end of the take off as well, so will do a bit of experimenting around with that kinda stuff to..

This was a spur-of-the-moment thing when we were having a few drinks

I've had a LOT of practice at having no style.

I ended up using head pressure, rather than flow direction. This T is sitting around in a bag as it has been since we welded it up :P Maybe I'll do something with it this weekend, would be interesting!
