Would this work in place of Wheat Germ? I'm trying to find alternatives to standard wheat germ because I'd like to make a couple of larger batches.

That's a tough call to make... It would depend on what the overall ingredients list shows... You sure don't want a lot of preservatives in there... You could always experiment by making two batches, one with straight wheat germ and one with Malt-O-Meal and then compare the results... That's what keeps this hobby interesting... I've used several different ingredients, including Corn Flakes, Cheerios, Graham Crackers, Quaker Oats, Mashed Potato Flakes, and Cream of Wheat... Yeah, I experiment during the boring winter months...
