Have a thought for cold temps that are coming...if I used a 2 inch copper pipe, capped one end, insert in mash, fill said tube w hot water and insert an aquarium heater Inside the tube. Hoping this results in something drinkable. 2# flaked Rye...brought 1/2 gal of water to boil , dumped in the flaked rye. Stirred it up put a lid on and let it sit overnight. Today I spread it out on baking pans And cooked in oven at 190f for 6 hours. Put into fermenter with 2# corn and 4# sugar diss...

Does the grain after cooking as prescribed carry a strong odor? I guess if it does judging byhow " heavy"

None of the use able rye bread avail ..tried brew shop for rye. The only thing available is

Ended up with about 4 1/2 gallons to run after straining thru paint after bag. Run started weak compared to say UJSSM . I have run into 5 gen of this stuff..It does go sour..noticeably so on gen 2 and so forth. Patience is the key..Mine always stopped popping in air lock after 4 days but smalled finsished about day 6. The mash would clear a little but then adn seemd truly " dead" no slight fizz noise when y...
