Are you talking about a wash (with yeast) or just a concentrated sugar solution?

edit: (posting while you were, Googe) I think just boiling would do it - like when you make beer. Boil too long and you get candy.

:?: So...I read Tater's thread about changes to the forum. Everything was fine. When I hit 'back', the familiar blue-ishness had been replaced with beige (camel?) and the thread titles weren't properly lined up with the icons on the left. Is this a "change" or is it just me? :?:

Not to mention that boiling will denature any enzymes in the wort that would otherwise continue to work during fermentation.
