Oh crap, i added too much...

Post by Mantix »

I'm using gbm's rum recipe (http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 7#p6749327) and i added 5 TBSPs of dap and 2 TBSPs of citric acid instead of TEASPOONS. Am i screwed? i don't know what i was thinking!!! i thought that seemed a bit high. Anyone have any advice?

Chances are that the wash will survive just fine... The DAP is just be more yeast nutrients... The extra citric will just throw the pH off a bit more than normal...

O thank God. this is my first wash, i normally make beer but i decided to READ THE MAIN SITE and build a still. i go on vacation tomorrow and im going to let the wash ferment while i'm gone. i'm going to put it in the bath tub in case it explodes. this site is an invaluable resource as far as i'm concerned. thank all of you.

If it's bubbling away happily about now then I'd say you should be alright... Those extras aren't anything that would cause the ferment to stall prematurely... Have a nice trip...
