Glass and natural corks. That's just me though.

+1 but if your talking long term you'll need to wax the corks or they will dry up and shrink and crack. Ideally you'd want to use charred white oak barrels...

I quite often melt beeswax and then dip the entire neck of the bottle :D

How much do you want to store? A 5 gallon sank keg with a big cork stopper is good for bulk storage.

For smaller quantities you can't go wrong with glass bottles.

I use 1gal (4.5L) Glass Demijohns to age my shine...

Once color and taste are reached, I remove the oak and store in the same demijohn, labeled ofcoarse...

Samohon, how old are your demijohn's? I know they can date back to the 1700's in Europe, do you collect them, I think they have more character than the carboy's.

I really don't like large carboys for long term storage, if something like a earthquake hits then you just lost 5 gallons of shine, don't ask me how I know.

Glass gallons and coffee filter lids with a chunk or two of oak. Safely placed away from everything. Barrel proof. This is after the color and taste is right. Never got to 5 gallons in one go ... wonder if I ever will.
