gasket help!!

what type of gasket do yall use to connect a tri-clamp to your keg? I have found some high chemical tolerant ones but i know a lot of people have problems with stuff like that. Any ideas?

a lot of guys make their own "washers" type things out of copper. I personally don't use one just really clamp it down and apply a bit of flour paste with great success.

You may need to sand off the ridge from one or both sides depending on your connection.

Maybe breaking the rules here but I cut out a washer from an old pair of jeans and keep it lubed up with flour/water and it works great for my tri clamp connection.

A few turns of PTFE (plumbers) tape will do the trick, cheap and replace each time.

Should be fine. Jeans is just cotton.

Don't use any synthetics that you cannot verify through MSDS documentation as being safe with high temperature high proof alcohol vapor and liquid... Hot alcohol is a caustic agent that can melt synthetics or at the very least leach harmful components out into your spirits... Also, simply being claimed to be "food safe" should not be mistaken as a guarantee of the synthetic withstanding the rigors of the distillation of spirits... Our safety motto is "When in doubt, leave it out."...
