What is a bushing reducer?

What's the difference between a bushing, and a bushing reducer? And a bushing reducer and a reducer?

Plumping terminology for the nube just doesn't exist on google.

A bushing reducer fits inside a fitting and the pipe fits inside of it.
Look on this link. Scroll down and look at the bushing. You will see it looks like a slug. You place this slug inside say a 90 then you can place the smaller pipe inside it.

Generally bushings and bushing reducers are referring to the same thing.

A bushing changes the OD of the pipe with minimal fitting allowance, Fitting allowance is how much room or distance it uses up...A Fitting reducer is a two step fittings that "fits" in to a fitting and couples around a pipe...A copper bushing reducer can also referred to as an insert reducer.
