New to distilling all together. My sister and her husband are into beer and wine making, I've never been one for beer or wine. Whiskey has always been my thing. nothing beats a good single malt scotch! I've always been curious about the craft and i'm REALLY interested in giving it a go soon. I'm collecting parts for my build, have an old roll of copper tubing, an old re-purposed beer keg donation is on its way as well to be re-purposed again.
initial plan is beer keg with a SS pressure cooker top and plumb copper off the top to a small pressure cooker thumpkeg, down to the condenser. plan is still in my head and my wife won't let me buy anything till we move in January.
Anyhow, I've been lurking and learning while I'm on standby mode till I can begin construction. can't wait to run my first batch, and I REALLY can't wait to start aging some product to my taste! Wife likes rum so first batch may have to be rum so I can justify to her a new hobby
Welcome to HD Violat3d, You have found the right place to gain all the Knowledge you will need on your journey, one small piece of advice, get an unmolested keg and keep the oridginal sanke fitting, you can build or buy the fittings that you will need and forgo all the troubles that go with trying to get something else to seal to the top once it is messed with. Good luck
Sometimes I wonder why is that Frisbee getting bigger......and then it hits me.
There we go, I did not do enough research to find that... I did a quick search in the forums and saw some nice designs, you got a recommendation on where i can get a sanke fitting/adapter to mount a copper pipe?
