Neutral or not?

How do you tell if your alcohol is neutral? I have a "neutral" run off my fractionating still measures 186 proof but still has that alcohol sting to the nose. So my silly question is "Is this neutral alcohol or not"!! How does your neutral alcohol smell? Mine has no other odour just a pure alcohol type smell i guess you would call it. All help greatly appreciated!

Under 93%/186 proof isn't neutral... True neutral is 95%/190 proof, but ~93% is close enough... But you'll have the smell of alcohol because that's what it is... If you have off smells then you have some minor smearing taking place... Neutral just smells like alcohol, without a fruity (Heads) or wet dog/dirty socks (Tails) smell to it...

That is all I get is the alcohol smell. So I am very close to neutral. I knew true neutral would be a higher abv but thats close enough for me. Thanx for answering my "Silly" question!
