No indication as to what tipped them off. That still does not look store bought. It looks too small to produce enough to sell. wonder what it was that got him caught.

No, that's not one of pintoshine's old plans. There's got to be more to this than checking sugar purchases. That's only 75 lbs in the photo.

do you think "illegal liquor operation" means someone making their own and following the "don't tell/don't sell" motto?

probably sold it to someone or was too loud about it

there's a lot of people around where I live that don't follow the don't tell part... I just play dumb about what they're saying.

Look at the old man in the photo. He looks like he is in the pic with a deer he just killed. What a shame to arrest a person that has a still of that size. What size do you think it is, 5 gallons. WOW 3 big bags of sugar. Is that 2 whole gallons of illegal hooch???? The guy should be hung for a massive operation like that.

Sheriff looks mighty proud of himself. Meanwhile next door someones cooking up meth by the pound while he's standing there gettin his picture taken so proud.

Article mentions "possess/sell" twice. Is possession and selling the same damn thing now? Possession with intent to sell? How can they prosecute with intent to sell with a still that small. Its like busting granny with 1 pot plant in the backyard and prosecuting her as a distributor dealer?
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

Interesting thing - they had him sign a paper promising to appear in court. Didn't say anything about being arrested or posting bail. Sounds like they're treating it something like a traffic ticket.

Just sayin',

That's not the thumper but a flake stand and worm. Looks like the thumper is the small copper between the still and the flake stand.

Or, a slobber box - looks almost too small to be a thumper.
