I hope because I have a blackpowder inline that I'd like to ise it on. The only way to find it is experiment, but not on my TC. Keep us posted on your results.

What would be the reason? Hoppe's No.9 solvent is cheap, effective, and known to be safe on the common materials used to construct a firearm. You can find it at Wal-Mart. I once used the wrong solvent on my Colt Woodsman, and it ruined the plastic grips. Melted the checkering right off. Lesson learned, and I'm still looking for an OEM replacement for the handle.
I've bought and sold more used firearms than I can count, most of which were not maintained well, if at all. Be above average and take proper care of your firearms using proven methods. Think about how much your guns are worth to you, and if it's worth damaging them from experimenting. I'd say it is not...
Note: If you ever mess up your Thompson Contender, just ship it back. They can and will fix almost anything for free. It's similar to Craftsman's "Lifetime Warranty" on certain tools.

Thats a good point. I never really thought of it that way.rad14701 wrote:Ummm...CanadianBacon wrote:You guys think using the fores in a spray bottle will clean the corrosive ammo out of a barrel and chamber when done shooting ?I think foreshots would melt the synthetics in the spray bottle, or leach them at best, coating whatever the spray hits with toxic yuck...!!!

I don't think it would do a whole lot for you anyway. It may help remove the powder residue and some lead in the rifling. One thing is for sure I doubt it would clean the copper from the rifling which is generally the biggest reason a barrel loses accuracy.
I agree stick with the well known solvents specially made for cleaning your gun.

It would cause rusting if it was not oiled afterwards. Well known solvents are the best route.
