I have read all the posts on flavoring here...

And found them very informative and full of good ideas for things to try at a later date. For Christmas I thru a candy cane in my mason jars and let it disolve. My friends loved it.
It was quick simple and cheap. I know its cheating, but what can I say. Have any of you just tossed something in the shine to give it flavor? If so, what?

I did read the Nuke post. Got alot of good ideas from it, that I will be trying here very soon. But I had people wanting something flavored for the holidays and they were not in the mood to wait.

Also saw something out there about Butter Scotch.

When I first started out several years ago I tried all sort of things, vanilla beans, port wine, ect ect, but the deeper I get into it I've stopped favoring. All I favor with now is charred oak and time. Hard to beat.

+1 I'm even easing up on the oak...
But it is fun to make something different for friends. I just pulled out a jar of pumpkin pie shine that I put away around Halloween and it does in fact taste exactly like pumpkin pie! Kind of a surprise that it turned out like it did, and people really seem to like it. Too "flavored" for me, but a successful experiment anyway.

Beggars can't be choosers... It's not like they're buying it from you... Right...??? Moochers don't get a say so the sooner you figure that out, the better off you'll be...

Tell them to bring something they like. Have a feints jug for them that don't get the message easy.
