Excellent...!
It runs as fine as it looks...
Don't worry...you will know how it behaves with just a few runs.
And if the spirits turn out a little bad (which i doubt), you have the advantage of re-running them...

I'm a bit of a newbi in the flute world so correct me if I'm wrong. Shouldn't your downcomers on your plates have a cup or some sorts on the bottom to prevent vapor passing straight through. Looks like you have a bevel cut on the bottom and that's all. Like I said please correct me if I'm wrong or just missing something.

Ok they will work just fine. The cut is below the bath level. If you use short down comersthat don't reach the lower plate you need a fluid trap to stop the bypass.

Ok, I guess I learned something. But still seems like you would lose vapor until the plates get flooded. Probably a minimal amount I'd say. Like I said I'm a newbi still learning.

Re: from nz new s/s collom buld
They fill quick and from the top down.remember when they are filling it's the down comer that is filling the plate.
Re: from nz new s/s collom buld
Your not loosing vapor, the vapor needs to go up to the reflux condenser, condense, then fall back down and fill the plate till it's full enough to create a lock on the downcomer, then your plates will be working 100%, only exception is cap plates, they can be pre filled with water, low wines ect and they'll work straight away.
