My representative is on the list, is yours?

Two of my three elected representatives have cosponsored. The third is busy running for leader of the free world.

I get government alerts on both the house and Senate. There are 172 co-sponsors in the house. Someone told me that bills like this die in committee. It sure seems to have a large following for something that will die on the vine.

Unfortunately, things have been very quiet in DC regarding the bill. We are still pushing, and hope that all of the support for it will see it get past the finish line.

This being an election year we'll be seeing a lot of bills stagnate, unfortunately...

Is there anything more we can do? I have written to my Senators and Congressmen. Of course, I did not get a response.

Aside from contacting your representatives there is little that you can do at this point. We continue to work with Senate Finance to try to get the bill moved forward.

Make that 12 new cosponsors, for a total of 184. On the Senate side there are 4 new senators for a total of 36. Clearly, there is continued interest in our bill.

What can we do to get the 2 committee's this bill is assigned to get moving?

Agreed! HDA's website has us near 40% support in the house and senate (41% HR and 36% Senate last I checked.) With this kind of support I really think this could be the year for Federal approval! Then I gotta convince my damn state...

Does it have to be 100% before it goes to vote? It sure seems like there are enough supporters to get it on the docket.

No, it does not take 100%, but the more the merrier. Most bills the get passed don't get nearly this much support. Only legislation I've seen get this much support are for things like "the house of Representatives shows its support for sunny days". They really do pass legislation like that from time to time.

MAYBE this will get some traction since S.Amdt.3539 (Craft Beverage Modernization Act) got killed last week.

Well, that's 42 out of 100 in the Senate, and 209 out of 435 in the House.

I'm no scholar, but I believe that the way America works is once the numbers break 50% you can instantly start distilling in the street in front of your house and giving it away to children.

I'm pretty sure we'll be there by the weekend, so if anyone needs me I'll be out front getting set up.

It still has to be voted on, go to committee, and come out to be voted again to be ratified right?

They all need to be voted on but they don't all have to go to committee unless they want to add pork... You don't think they send their own raises to committee do you...??? :lolno:

From my followings with both the House and Senate, they were sent to Committee last summer. Where bills die. You would think with this many supporters, it would go to vote soon.

213 of 435 in the House. 5 more to go to exceed 50%. It sure would be nice to see a vote on the docket.

We are continuing to work on this. It certainly has the support needed to pass, but there are other roadblocks that need to be navigated in order to get it to the floor. Things at this point still look positive, and certainly every additional Representative / Senator that signs on in support just helps.
