Weird distillate just above 80 till just below 80 TWICE!

So, this has happened to me twice now. The first time on a Peach spirit run and now on a Sweet Feed spirit run. At just above 80% ABV till just below 80% ABV, this nasty smelling and nasty tasting distillate has come through. Mind you,on this sweet feed run I have already taken out a little over 2 quarts of "fores" and 6 pints of "heads". The jar of distillate before the weird flavor starting coming through was just starting to taste really good. Then this. About the same as the peach run. Anyone have any ideas? I mean, I am glad I keep catching it and taking it out, but it makes me curious as to what is happening or what is going on and if it can be prevented.

What is your take off rate...??? You might want to try slowing take off at the heads to hearts transition to see if you can compress the end of the heads a bit more...

Take off is not a steady stream...almost...but can still see the individual drops... is that too fast?

So yesterday I had to shut down the run because of time constraints....but I had collected 9 pints of the weird stuff yesterday and after re-starting the run today, collecting 1 pint of throw away, I have collected 6 more pints that are either for sure the weird stuff or questionable. The distillate is still running about 80% and I have slowed my takeoff today.

So it seems I am just getting in to the hearts...2 quarts of fores...plus another pint at re-start...plus 29 pints of "heads" does this seem right to anyone? This still charge was 8+ gallons of low wines 4 gallons of backset and enough water to bring the abv down below 50%. All sweetfeed runs.
