Producer's Pride All Grain

Post by rummy »

Not sure if this is the correct forums to place this post, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the Producer's Pride All Grain now has pellets added to it despite saying 'All Grain' on the packaging. The description on the TSC website has remained unchanged, however. Hope this helps some people in the future.

I realize you're a Donor, but it doesn't give you a right to be a douche about things. A simple "There's been a discussion about this already." would've sufficed.

That's the first I have heard of pellets in the all grain but my local TS don't stock it anymore so I haven't used it in a year glad I didn't special order any.

Not being a douche at all, Sir. You've been here five years and it has been beat to death.Old news. Covered many times by quite a few posters. Read the SF thread.

The fact that I sent the management a couple of bucks means zip.

Delivered to your door in nondescript packaging .Zero pellets.

Actually, I did read the SF thread. Multiple times... Even saw the picture where furious_george says that there's no pellets in the All Grain feed (with a picture of bag contents) http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 0#p7392147 dated from February of this year. Hence the reason for me posting this message. What was said in that thread was that TSC has actually stopped carrying that item, but could still be found in remote areas. I found a bag and wanted to update the forums. What exactly does me being here five years have to do with anything? I already saw the link to the replacement item, and bookmarked it. The purpose of this thread to let people know about the change. If it doesn't apply to you, please just move on, Sir.

My comment was simply that your information is quite dated aka late to the dance.

I bought a bag of Producer's Pride All Grain with pellets in it awhile back.
Guess I don't read enough to keep track of everything posted on the site.
That or my oldtimers and good shine caused me to forget what I read

Shady, there seems to be some inconsistencies in the contents of the bags despite the external markings . I've found pellets in one bag and none in the bags next to it despite being marked the same externally as well as sharing the same labeling.

On my 6th bag of SF from WM and all have been "the good stuff"

Unless I'm mistaken, Producers Pride has changed their mix to include pellets, even in their All Grain Mix, in the past year...

From exp. I've found the best approach is to take a pocket knife with you for "exploratory surgery" despite what any labeling may say.

Inconsistent at best.

Rad, do you happen to know if the pellets are just pelletized grain or is it mixed with alfalfa? Much appreciated, Rad.

Just curious, what's wrong with pellets? It's likely the same amount of starch as non-pelletized grain, no?
