Updated calculators by Haggy

Post by Uncle Jesse »

Hiya,

Haggy has updated his Packed Reflux Column Calculator https://homedistiller.org/wiki/htm/calc ... olumn.html

He has also created a new Shotgun Coil Condenser Calculator https://homedistiller.org/wiki/htm/calc ... enser.html

Both are added to the HD Wiki Calculators page. https://homedistiller.org/wiki/index.php/Calculators

As always, thanks for your excellent work, Haggy!

Thanks, all, I will keep on doing what I can.

For more information on Packed Reflux Column stuff, go to this thread:

For more information and several examples of the New Condenser Calculator, go to this thread:

The New Condenser Calculator has several options. You can study / design different types of condensers under different run conditions. Options you can specify are;

1. Shotgun condensers or Dimroth condensers

2. Stripping operation PC or a Reflux Column operation

3. For the Reflux Column option - The RC ( deflagmater ) or the PC

4. For the Reflux Column option - Total reflux ( 0 takeoff ) or Steady operation

5. Search - Calculator finds the cooling water flow rate for a deflagmater
where the condenser heat transfer equals the heat given off by the condensed reflux

6. No Search - Calculator uses the specified cooling water flow rate

You supply input data on the condenser design, the operating conditions and the cooling water flow rate and inlet temperature.

Try it - ask questions - give feedback
