Christmas gifts
Just finished off packing up some give away gifts for family-- bottled, corked and sealed with wax and labelled. Nocino (wall nut liquor) Ginger liquor and Apple Pie Moonshine. I'll add a dried apple slice on a ribbon around the neck of the APM for a nice touch.

Re: Christmas gifts
Fine looking gifts! Are those 375ml bottles or 750?

Very nice. Where did you find the wax?

🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting.
Per a conversation I had with Mr. Jay Gibbs regarding white oak barrel staves: “…you gotta get it burning good.”

Re: Christmas gifts
I think waxing the bottles really puts a nice touch on them. Those will make great gifts. Back in my younger days, I would make up gift buckets of a 6 pack of homebrew, some smoked salmon, and smoked cheese for my closest friends.
I still gift away a lot of my smoked cheese, but next year, I hope to be able to gift them bottles of my single malt.

Re: Christmas gifts
Made a gift for a friend. Not for Christmas but for his 40th birthday.
Nothing as fancy as the other posts here.
Coffee liqueur, gin, spiced rum - in a holder I made from pallet wood (he owns a build-ware business and used a lot of pallet wood in the showroom and office.

Re: Christmas gifts
Some fine looking presents there, anyone who gets any of the above should consider themselves very fortunate to know a distiller. I also doubt that many who get one will understand just how many hours of work was involved in the making of that bottle.
Wish I was half as organized as you guys are with labels , mostly my friends get an unmarked bottle.

Re: Christmas gifts
Looking through the barrel stack and noticed another rum barrel from 2016, a little 1 gal Gibbs, the angles took quite a bit but left me a good drop. Not sure if I'll gift these or fill my own stocking with them
Tasting a bit and wow, a bit of age does wonders.

Re: Christmas gifts
Started a new "tradition" a few years ago.
"Decorating the tree" Not many places you can get an ornament for about $2.00 and unfortunately, don't have any of my own to hang.
Plus, at least in years past, following Christmas Eve services and dinner with the family, we could "drink the tree".
Looks like that part of it, at least with other family members, will be postponed until, hopefully, next year.
Merry Christmas All!

Re: Christmas gifts
Just slightly off topic, but...
My wife said, 'What do you want for your birthday?' (Eightieth).
And I said, 'It is not until March, give me a little time to think about it...'
Must be something a bit special...
And then she said, 'We do have to think about your birthday. Where can we celebrate? Who do you want to be there?'
Wasn't about a present at all!!!!

Re: Christmas gifts
The dried apple slice on the APM is a great touch, adds a little extra charm. Bet they’ll all be a hit with your family!
I did something similar with my husband last Christmas too, he loves ginger liquor, so I bottled some up for him along with a personalized water bottle I got in https://bottledevents.com that had a quote "Wishing you a Christmas as wonderful as you are, my love". It’s such a great way to add a personal touch to gifts.
