Looks like an ocarina, I don't know what they would've called it historically in your area.

Can't quite figure out how to post the actual video so this is the best I can do. I have been working on playing clawhammer banjo for a while now and my teacher mentioned this fellow. I really like his style of playing so thought I would share

click utube
paste your selection in between brackets

then, place cursor ...you see the ?v= n put curser inbetween = and n
backspace /delete everything , leaving only n9vllhuVVOw

Frodo,
i have seen some of that instrument in some catalogs i think you use the fingers like a flute or recorder configuration and blow on the wind side.... cool double cool that it has been passed from generations...

i wish i had something passed down from the predecessors i know my grandma's oldest brother played violin... but never possessed one from any one related ....

great music as always all this blues i ended up spending money on a John Mayall and the blues breakers album.... was an more recent one.... nice but not pure enough to the style that gets me going... good though

too late for me to think clearly enough to post an example.......

an out of town visitor drops bye and shares a mix that was his favorite,

Bacardi white rum, red bull and diet coke... with ice. interesting i am buzzed but a little worried that i wont sleep till 3 or 4 am......

shheeesh

i am a night owl already and been caffeine free for 3 weeks lately.... so i am hosed for a good night sleep ugh!

well i been messing around with my fiddle tonight.... since i live so far away from the rest of the world, dont get much chance to jam with any one... so with my collection of mp3 music old time and such i been playing along so i dont get to stagnant just playing by myself....

well i was doing ok tonight but then i was tired and the old gal named Hazel Dickens came up on the rotation and i set the album to play all the way through ... Man i tell you she has a way that makes me feel... her voice and such ... what a treat it would be to sit and listen to her sing in the real... of course she is long gone, Hazel had such an old sweetness and feeling of simple folk, that you could really know and love ...... folks that knew hard times .

well dont know why i felt like saying so much about her... but i just love her music and wanted to share and i am glad we have this thread here to share...
thinking about it, i remember what a gal shared at a funeral i attended this last august... she shared what someone shared to her.... a person dies twice, once when the soul leaves the body, and secondly is the last time someone mentions their name....

so Hazel Dickens and many many others may be gone... but may they always be remembered for the gift that we have from their art and craft of music or what ever that enriched us all and lifted us up with ....

OK i will step off my soap box and post an example of 'Hazels Music. this is one i like a lot ........ takes me home....

Rad,
After all these years now I understand you Portrait on all your posts .... you take after your Uncle except you moved up to porcelain  round my neck of the woods they have a few hold outs of what we call the Honey Bucket.....
heard tell of a fool that once tried to thaw one out on stove so the local utility service truck could evacuate it... wasnt smelling much like HONEY hahaha ..

was that Bobby Bare? never heard him sing that one , till now.

raketemensch...
i love the old steel guitar sounds sliding around on those strings. nice sound... kinda reminds me of one of those classic Led Zeppelin tunes from so far back in the memories i cant remember...

At the snow with my kids and I get a call to tell them their Nanna had a massive stroke and may not recover was not really a smashing way to start the day  . Anyways thought I might post a couple of songs the old Girl liked

Sorry to hear Crow, that would put a damper on good times. Might need to save that one for the drive home.

Sitting around hunting camp listening to Croweology, an acoustic offering from the
Black Crowes. Was released a few years back. Can't beat it if you are a Crowes fan.
Check out Thorn in my pride, or She talks to angels. So good.
Just hangin by the fire with a couple of good friends. Got my elk in archery.
Have a nice 6X in camp right now. My bud Doug dropped him on the spot.
That's cool cause blood trails are only so much fun. Gotta love the 300 mag.
