My "Still Tutorial" CM

Beautiful build T-Pee, I to am doing a first build and using a water heater as the boiler as I really like the more original all copper look. I'm wondering if you worked off a plan for your still head or if you just bashed it out? I'm keen on the CM head thanks to my dad having 1 when I was much younger. I don't suppose you could help out with a small amount of measurements could you please?

P.s my column size is 2" and I'm planning on a double wound reflux coil. Cheers

This design is loosely based on one that has been posted on the internet for many years... While it looks nice it is not the best out there... That being said, I'm sure T-pee has had success running his...

You don't need exact measurements or blueprints to build an efficient still, you just need to know enough about stills and have the skills to build what works...

The 1.5" column is 45" to the takeoff and the PC is 22" of 1.5". That said...

It has been extensively modified from its original design to run as well as it does. The product and reflux condensers have been separated for efficiency, a coldfinger is now mounted through the top cap backing up the external reflux condenser and a sight glass was added between the external wound reflux condenser and the coldfinger. You bet it runs well but there was a lot of work to make it so. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. I'd likely go with a keg and Dad300's CCVM in 2" and keep it simple, ya know?

After a bit of chat with someone we've come up with a design and plan mate. Figured out to that besides pipe sizes measurements are no biggy, you just play around with it a little so to speak
