Re: Sugar wash
So the pump doesn't aerate the wash at all...??? I'm not an aquarium buff so I have no idea what types of equipment that hobby has... Perhaps you should have been more clear in your writing because there is nothing wrong with my reading... And simply because John Stove says it doesn't make it common practice... Merely one mans opinion on how to do things, like most authors...

To keep this argument from happening all over again look at Roberto188 thread on how to carbon filter . On page 3 this is almost a carbon copy of what is starting here, so let' settle down a bit.
Back to the original post. Yes you can try and clean up your run with a second distillation diluted well with water or carbon filtering, no guarantee as few people here that run tried and true recipes ever need to do it, it is mostly those that adventure onto their own paths and recipes that deal with this type of problem. What has been advised to you is why not make a better wash that will not need it. Birdwatchers or death wish is not a technical or expensive wash to do and bakers yeast is only about $4.99 a pound at the market. Just give one a try and compare the difference then make your own decision. That is what home distilling is about. Making what tastes good to you. I may not like it but I don't have to drink it, you do.

Although you can't do it with a copperhead, it is a pot still with packing.
If you had a semi decent setup that was a reflux you might be able to strip more flavours.
