Is it just me or are we seeing hoards of new members and lurkers showing up here after every airing of a TV show about distilling, moonshine, whiskey, or any of the plethora of other alcohol related programs...??? If you are one of the newcomers who found your way here by searching the internet after watching those programs and feel the urge to jump right in, head-first, WAIT...!!!

These forums are not here for you to come and ask a million questions, they are here for discussions about the craft by those of us who have done our research and want to compare notes in an effort to push the craft forward into the 21st century... Think about it, you aren't going to walk up to a professional race car driver and ask how much tire pressure to run because you're thinking about getting into racing... You aren't going to ask an astronaut what food to pack because you are thinking about going to the moon... You aren't going to ask a professional rodeo rider what brand of boots will make you the next champion... You aren't going to ask a plumber whether it's righty-tighty or lefty-loosey when using PVC cement... So why do you come here and ask us annoying questions that just make you sound ignorant, which in a majority if cases is an accurate and honest assumption...??? Ignorance describes the mental state of having the ability to learn at a time when you have not yet learned, not to be confused with stupidity which more accurately describes a total inability to learn... Nobody is calling you stupid - lazy, perhaps...

Now I know most green-horn's probably aren't going to find this topic and read it because they're gonna be too busy posting far too many questions that have already been answered far more times than experienced members care to count... However, for those of you who do find and read this topic - READ... READ... READ the parent site at least three times - the whole thing... PLEASE...!!! Things really will start to make sense and you will be far less annoying when you come back and ask educated questions...
