whos running what right now?

Little or nothing to do with distillation.

Well...you run a beercan full every minute, that's fast.. !
How much power do you run on your still...?

Makes me want to punch my still.

I get 2-2.5 hours per 4 or 5 gallons. Man I need to get 240 in here...
Lol good deal. I'm on propane if that makes ya feel any better. I'd gladly give up fast strips for sitting on the couch instead of out here in this crappy shed. We are under a wind advisory today for 40mph winds and it FINALY quit raining. I figure if a tree is gonna fall on me it might as well be while I'm running! On jar #5 of the spirit now. Got 2 gal low wines from the strip +5 gallons fresh wash charged. I'm hoping to get a good 2 gal after cuts and dilution. Might just be wishful thinking. Time will tell I guess.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

Took me like 4-5 hours to do a spirit run on my 12G ... 11 g in 2 hours sounds too fast..

I just did cuts and went 1 extra jar into the fients from were I could taste anything heads or tales. Gave me a full gallon and 1 750ml jaf about 2/3 full.

I now have a bit over 2.5g of feints to reflux. But not today. Been saving them from all my runs. Would have more but last UJSSM I recycled the UJSSM fients. Almost time for a reflux run... Might do a 5g or tried and true to go with the feints. But house temp is cold and down to 64 inside so not going to ferment well.

2 hrs was for a strip run not the spirit. I'm guesstimating 6 for my spirit run. And also the 2 hrs did not count heat up time. That was from first drips to burner off...

+1

I just made up with my still. Half of my 2.5 hours is heat up time.

Just finished running off some previously pot stripped Birdwatchers low wines through my reflux column using SPP... I diluted 2 gallons of 55% down to 35% with a gallon of water and collected 3.75 liters... Of that 3.75 liters I blended 3 liters of 95%... So far I have diluted 1.5 liters of the 95% down into 2 - 1.75 liter bottles of 40%/80 proof... That means I still have enough 95% left for 2 more bottles that I'll get bottled tomorrow... Todays toil, if you can call it that, will save me $100 in liquor store purchases at an expense of under $10, all in...

Indeed it is amazingly cheap, if one counts the costs for storebought liquor. :)
Made a good deal a week ago, when i was in Germany.
Sugar for a little less than 0,80 $ for a Kg.
So i bought 10 packs.
I also made a birdwatchers and used 2 X 2 packs, which gives me 16 L of wash.
I'll make a strippingrun this weekend.
Having nearly 1 1/2 gallon of lowwines from a previous run, i am looking forward to a long spiritrun approximatly 2-3 hours.
Got some plums from my friend, so i'll follow up on last seasons succes..run the Bw twice in my potstill and let the plums soak in the spirit.
He also gave me a bucket full of blackcurrants, so i foresee a few bottles of creme de cassis.. :P (my girlfriend is crazy about that stuff).

I thought I would find some cheap pumpkins after Halloween to try a pumpkin ferment but no luck.... Any how, I had a big bag of rice to fill my shooting rest bags with and had about 20 pounds left over. I split that in two barrels, added some hot water and let it sit an hour before filling up, and adding sugar and yeast. Waiting to see how this turns out. 8)

well i am stuck in a rut... i love it though it is a good rut... Molasses wash 5 pounds with 12 pounds sugar just finished my 7th generation... keeps getting better. this last run in my 4 inch flute, i am using 4 of the five plates i built it with.... so as i am running this last run i realize i see the foamy wash reaching up through the bottom sight glass... trying to puke on me.... i saw it before but it never reached the plates, well i was paying attention to other things and before i realized it, 3 of the plated had brown foamy wash on them so i rode the throttle of the heat to back it off a bit but i got to thinking... thumpers are used to add flavor sometimes... the stream of out put tasted great. so i rode the edge of rummy pukedness.... man i am telling you boys , and corene it is the best danged rum i have ever tasted out of my flute... i had my son and his gal over...were tasting some Mexican bacanora and single malt scotch and col. taylors straight rye whiskey and some interesting porter beer.... and last round i poured up a shot of the gen 7 rum , my son was astounded said here we are tasting this and that when the real prize is sitting disguised in a small kraken rum bottle made by good old Dad! made me feel good ... and i took him into the room and showed him the amazing thick head on the generation 8 of my molasses wash rum yeast is turned BERSERKER. i have never seen a cap of foam on my molasses as thick like it is now....

ok thats what i just ran.... cant wait till the next run.

Me too! And I used wheat chocolate malt, so extra fun.

I have been really trying to learn specialty malts and what they do to whiskey. I had a good run with honey malt, but I was also trying them while learning corn meal. I Discovered that the really good honey flavour was in the transitional heads. So, my last honey cut run I stepped outside my comfort zone to include late heads. Probably a good thing as I am usually stupid conservative.

We'll see where the chocolate caramel flavor comes through. I would love to have this batch ready for S3 squared, but it will be only 4.5 months. Might be to young. Eh.

Just finished fermenting
1.2 lbs of LME amber and 6 lbs of corn sugar.
It'll be my first legit run since my sac run. Hoping to get it charged tomorrow.
