FNG Here!

Post by Beerswimmer »

Hi,
My name is Rob and I live on an island in the Gulf of Alaska. I'm a lurker who is about to start distilling soon. I have 2 carboys bubbling right now!!! I'll be using a combo still to make mostly whisky and neutrals. I absolutely love Scotch from Islay, so to reproduce something even close to that is going to be my life's pursuit!

Cheers!!!

I have 1 sugar and 1 DWWG. The DWWG fermented in less than 36 hours and a little came out of my blow-off tube!

haha yeah you gotta watch that... first time I ran it the fermenter blew the lid clean off and then I had sugary wheatgerm all through my shed...

If you love the Islay malts, there are some interesting ideas around about a peaty essence... see here on the parent site: http://homedistiller.org/flavor/flavour" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow ,
and here for harry's essence of peatreek: http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=875" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow (its the last post in the thread).

Good luck!
