hi i'm larisk.
i've been distilling neutral spirit for the last 6 months. its almost become an addiction. my friedns roll their eyes when i start extolling the virtues of moonshine.
i got myself a still spirits super relux still and have been doing turbo washes up until the batch i put on today which was a 25lbirdwatchers recipe. cant wait to see how that one turns out
ultimately i want to make scotches and rums and my own stills. but i'm still a ways off at the moment. my current project is adding a thermostat of some description to my still. i'm thinking i'll pull one out of a comercial coffee urn, they go from 30 to 100 degrees but i just have to find one.
my first question would be. what is racking? i've seen the term around heaps but nothing to describe what it is. i just use a jug and scoopout my settled wash trying not to disturb the bottom. but i'm thinking a syphon wold be better and less disruptive.
anyways that me.
cheers
howdie

Greetings, larisk...
Syphoning IS racking... Plenty of good information here for you to research through... We even have some Glossary information kicking around to help you with those tricky terms...
Good luck...
