I have had no problem logging in this morning.

After that problem, did you have other problems? I wonder if some out of the way DNS server has a bogus record? I stay logged in pretty much 24/7, so I am not sure that I hit a DNS server too often. I have not seen any problems myself.

it was about 5 A.M. central time. when I tried to log on it went strait to a page that said the Domain name registration had run out...
But then about 7:30 when I tried it worked just fine and has ever since.

KS that is what is happening to me. I found the forums accidentally by searching for something else on Google. Wonder what is happening?

Bert

Update. I saved this address and when recalled, it worked properly. The old address I have still gives the picture you posted.

KS, do what I did. Save this address. When you click on it, it will bring up this forum. Then at the top of page click on "Board index" and all the forums will come up. I bet when they do, that if you save that address, it will work. I'm gonna give it a try. Will post results under Edit on this post.

Bert

Edit. I did. The message that came up said that address was already saved, would I like to overwrite it. I answered yes. I clicked on the overwritten address, and the "board index" came up. All seems to be ok now.

Yes I think the problem is intermittent with the parent site. If I log directly to the forum i'm OK.

DNS server propagation has been messed up most of today... My ability to the HD site has been sporadic at best... Tater hasn't been able to get here at all since this morning... Redirects have been to at least two other sites... Perhaps some DNS poisoning attacks have been running rampant on some servers...

My home bixes (all of them) can not connect to HD. They had a long running session, and when I refreshed, it went to register.com

Now, on my work PC (which I have VPN'd into now), HD is working just fine.

I gotta figure out how to switch to a working DNS server at home. :(

I don't like to see sites disappear. So, a friendly 'heads up'. Ya might wanna check out who yer registered owner is as of this a.m. It ain't Dave (he let it lapse). I did some digging. Not pretty. Posted the info I found on my Distillers site. Hope you guys can sort it.

Yep, this happened to me three times when I tried to log in. Eventually I restarted the puter and it worked.

It means you should all take this very seriously. This forum has alot of collected knowledge that would be a shame to see disappear.

The site is coming back, slowly but surely. Register.com normally calls me before the domain expires, but not this time. They just let it expire...

I paid them about 12 hours ago. It can take a while for internet DNS servers to sync up and propagate the proper IP.
