Hello all!
I have been playing around with this for several years now. Not to regular but when I have some time and get the itch. I have a five foot reflux colum still. Using a eight gallon SS keg and a electric heating element. Its a thing of beauty. I learned how to do this ten years ago from this site. I read and read then built my still. I should have kept reading I guess. I always had good product but it had a taste that just should not be there. After ten years I came back looking for answers. Yep I think I found the problem was by using turbo yeast. I guess I will try birdwatchers advice and throw the turbo yeast. wish me luck. Cant wait to learn more until I get that perfect product I have been hoping to create.

Welcome, jwl...
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much cleaner your washes will be once you leave the turbo yeast behind... The little extra work on the front end of the process will be more than compensated on the back end...
Yeah, we like drooling over other peoples stills so pictures would be welcomed...
Good luck...
