New Check vaulve
I was looking for a (one way vaulve) when fermenting. to exaust CO2 from my mash container. I got a hand siphon, used to siphon kerosene , from a kero container. I cut it down just enough to expose plastic one way vaulves, and then inserted it into my mash container and it works Great! I could buy one,but I like to utilize what I have . Thankyou,

You really don't need a check valve, a simple blow off tube is what I and many use. Some here don't use anything and just leave the lid loose. Mr P made a pretty cool little deal with a ping pong ball and I think he used a pvc male adapter. Then there is always the standard bubbler sold at all home brew shops

A hose into a container of water works just fine as well... I have a topic kicking around here somewhere that explains how I've made airlocks in the past out of a pill bottle, a sharpie marker, and a stick pen...

Welcome to HD lucky45acp, It is good to use what you have and to come up with new ideas to do many of the simple tasks that his hobby involves. There is a bunch of great reading on here that covers the many different ways that our members have come up with on how to skin a cat, pretty inventive bunch here at HD. Cheers OMD PS: I use a loose fitting lid and let er blow.
