"Coffee may reduce liver disease .......Drinking coffee could reduce the risk of alcohol-related liver disease. ........

"Drinking less than one cup of coffee a day was found to reduce the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 30%; one to three cups by 40%; and four or more cups by 80%.........."

I drink over 12 cups a day and haven't had a cold or the flu in years... 8) Don't even get the jitters either, and can fall asleep right after finishing a cup... Must have built up a tolerance... Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...

OK.

I can understand less than 1.

It's none.

Or 1/2 a one

So the chance of alcoholic cirrhosis is reduced by 30% if you drink no coffee ( or less than a cup) ?

30% less chance than what?

A rat? A monkey? A virgin nun?

A rat that drinks less than no cups of coffee?

30% less than the control group of otherwise identical people who didn't drink coffee.

I was also told by a whacky Chinese herbalist type lady that simply being in the presence of a pig is good for your kidneys. I owned a pig for years so I'm feeling pretty healthy.

Anyone else roast their own coffee beans? I drink a lot of coffee.

I really enjoy my coffee. I normally drink about 4-5 pots a day while at work. And there is nothing as good as fresh roasted coffeee, I just don't want to take the time at 3am. 3 in the morning to 7 at night makes for a long day, but it pays good.

Heh. I only drink one on the weekdays, and it's some of the shittiest instant you can buy. One can of coca-cola on the weekends. Better than a caffeine-withdrawal induced headache, eh?

Since I retired I don't drink nearly so much coffee, but still....when we drive to visit and stay at relatives I take along my coffee pot, grinder, and beans. (that's not as bad as my buddy...he and his wife roast their own beans too)

I guess I'm hooked , huh?

Yes, Uncle Jesse, my wife has me roast beans to keep her in coffee.

I only drink one cup of coffee a day in the mornin', but my wife drinks coffee all day long.

And roastin' yer own beans Dutchmancreek is like doin' anythin' else for yerself at home: A higher quality product at a cheaper price.
