Prayers wanted
Mrs Husker goes in for a lung biopsy in less than 12 hours.
She went in Monday with chest pains, thinking it might have been heart related. It was not, but they did a chest Xray, and found a 2.5 cm spot, and also did a CAT scan. We have a biopsy in the morning to see what it is.
We pray for the best, but are ready to accept any outcome.
I have written, deleted, and re-written this post about a dozen times, guess I finally hit the submit button.

Your in our prayers.

Prayers and only positive thoughts. Wishing the best.
It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.

It's hard, but try not to worry, just keep those positive thoughts, I hope it comes good for you both.

No words can ease the pain - I wish you and Mrs strength in tough times. We must go through the downs like we go thru the up's. Life is relentless and does what it does yet so often the best comes out of the worst.

Re: Prayers wanted
We are off the the hospital in about 30 minutes (15 minutes now). Worst part of this part, is not finding out anything until next week (at least that is what Barb has told me to expect from this test).
As for worry, we try not to. We live with what we have. I certainly do not wish to live without her, but if we have no control over that, then there is not much we can do about it. However, as of right now, there has been no definitive diagnostic, so we really do not 'know' what to expect. Worry at this point (or at about any point) is pretty meaningless.
Thanks to everyone for their positive thoughts and or prayers.

Re: Prayers wanted
Just talked with Barb (took about 20 minutes of phone tag to finally get through). She is doing ok. I was surprised, because they did not do a general, just gave her something to 'take the edge off', and some local. She said there was a pretty loud 'crunching' sound when they first went in. I imagine that was rib cartilage being poked through.
I will give her another hour to wake up a little more, then am heading up there. I was told she can go home in about 3 hours or so (was 4 hours when I was told, but getting her on the phone was like an exercise in herding cats which took a while).
Hoping for the best, but still playing the waiting game.

Re: Prayers wanted
My wife goes for her MRI this afternoon.
In a week or so, once the results are back, we'll know if she just sprained her shoulder, or if she tore out the anchors for her rotator cuff.

Re: Prayers wanted
Husker--I've been thru this with my wife. They will tell you the biopsy is uncomfortable--what they mean is it will hurt like hell. Biopsy will tell where they go from here. It might be something fairly benign--with no further treatment necessary.
In my wifes case, it was cancer and they had to do thoracic surgery. That surgery was brutal because they had to remove a portion of her lung which is a major operation. That was 20 years ago and they have come along way with surgical procedures since then. My wife said it was probably harder on me than on her. Hardest thing you will ever do is watch someone you love suffering. My wife recovered rather quickly from that surgery and was back at work within 6 weeks. That surgery gave us another 10 wonderful years together.
I'm debating about wether to hit the submit button too. I don't mean to scare the shit otta you--I know you are imajining the worst case scenario. In my wifes case it was the worst case scenario--but we survived it--at least for a while. Ain't any of us got tomorrow for sure. I feel for ya bud.

Re: Prayers wanted
I never know what to say in threads like this. I'm going under the knife soon for the same problem in a different body part. It's a scarey time Husker. Good luck be with you and Mrs Husker.

Husker, best wishes and good thoughts for your wife
My g/f and I just celebrated her 5 year cancer-free anniversary AND her 50th birthday last week, so it was an extra-special party.
Hang in there and let her know how much you love her
