i learned my lesson

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.

i learned my lesson

Post by itamar »

hi there,
after the first dissapointent run i learned the lesson you guys taught my.

this time i used sealed plastick barrel with air lock.

i used 10kg cuted plums with 6kg of sugar, after 2 days it was bubbly like soda.
i waited 5 more days, mixed it every day.

then distilled it in my still.
what came out was clear Slivovitz with great smell.
the taste was ok, some of my friends said it is not strong enough.

so i am back in bussiness, have 8 more 15kg buckets of plums and same quntity of grape waste...

Glad to hear that you've persevered, itamar... What are the specifics of your current recipe...??? If it needs to be tweaked a bit we're more than willing to help guide you along...

Good luck...
