for turbo yeast, yes, definitely let it clear, or aide the clearing process with a clearing agent, isinglass or bentonite, or one of the other alternatives.
It may just be me, but I found it difficult to get a nice clean tasting product from a turbo wash without multiple distillations (I don't bother with carbon filtering it however), and I imagine that would be a bigger problem if I hadn't made sure to clear it thoroughly.
However, thats only my limited experience with turbo washes (I have only done 4 washes with turbo yeast, and have switched to a more general purpose distillers yeast), but, whats the harm in letting it settle. As people say so often, and I have discovered to be true, theres no point in rushing it, a good product takes time.
i had a brew of beer i had bottled and then decided it was shouse...i let it sit cause i couldnt be bothered emptying the bottles and cleaning...
after 3 months it is now a great brew, anyways, what i'm saying is i agree.
time.
If you do use a clearing agent, I recommend bentonite.
I believe it was Pinto who told me how to use it best (use a blender with boiling hot water and add it while blending, then stir it into the wash). I used about 10 tablespoons last time.
Bentonite has a flavour reducing effect, which is why its used sparingly in wines, for fear that it will remove all the taste.
However, for us, when making a neutral, thats beneficial. I definitely noticed a beneficial effect using it. Didn't get it all, but last turbo wash I did I used a large amount of bentonite (its cheap as), and although I did still do multiple distillations of the result, its completely tasteless now.
If this is the very first run on your unit, you might want to consider finding some cheap vodka or wine to run through it to clean it out. Even after a vinegar and water run, you still won't get everything out. Hot alcohol is one of the best solvents in the world.

originaly i made a copper european type still head...i didnt have the nuts to run it, just not 100% sure it was safe.
now using a keg and stainless reflux column packed with SS scourers.
i have run water through the sysytem, if i was to use say sherry, how much would be the min. i could put through? 5lt + 5lt H2O? 2lt+2lt H2O?
I have sevral 50 pound bags of Bentonite. I use it to "throw" in lake to keep it from leaking. I wonder if I could/should use it for a clearing agent for Grain Mash?

Do a site search for "bentonite" as it's been discussed several times...
