Sending a friend a sample
Hi to all of you, I have a buddy that lives on the right side and I am on the left side, what is consensus on shipping a bottle across the country. I know it is not legal, but than nether is making it. I don't need that sort of exposure. Any ideas?

UPS/Fedex etc. will do this. just double pack with precautions and call it flavoring or some such.

wine is shipped all the time. yours is just condensed. calling the contents wine could alleviate concerns about sloshing noises from contents. cob

went to the ups store to ship out a package the other day and asked if I could ship out a bottle of wine or whiskey and they told me they would not ship it if they knew it was wine/whiskey. than they said dont tell em what it is, its flavoring or jelly whatever. Or go to fedx they dont ask questions. also they said it had to have a label and can not be a open bottle. hmmm my buddy might have to wait until I visit before he gets to sample

Buy a jar of Georgia Moon (it's about 8-10 bucks). Empty it out (don't even bother drinkin what's in it). Put your stuff in it. Close the jar up. Viola.
Or if you sending oaked stuff...get a makers mark bottle. Fill it. Remelt wax on the top to seal it.
More than one way...as the saying goes.

Send it in a dark wine bottle with a real cork and top it with colored foil so it looks originally authentic... And if none of your fingerprints can be found under the foil there is no way to prove that you ever knew what was in that bottle... Be safe - bottle wearing gloves...

I stopped by the Post Office and asked if I can send wine and she said no but she then said that they don't open Priority mail. So if you buy a box from them it should go just fine unless they loose it.

guess its like anywhere else,,, its whoever you get to know. i see the lady at the ups hub and she said that it was ok to ship wine. i even said that i have some friends in another country and would like to give them some wine and she said that it would be fine,, just pack it good. the only place that she said that you could not ship wines to, or much more for that matter, was to our soldiers. go figure.

If you can do an underwater seal, you wont have to worry about sloshing at all...
