I usually use 2-48 hr Turbo yeast sachets/ 30 lb sugar/ and 15 gl of water.. the store where I get the yeast from is now having a hard time getting the 48 hr turbo in but they had the 24 hr.. I know they say not to stack the 24 because of the heat it generates, would it be possible to start the wash with 1-24 hr turbo and after the heat has died down some (say 2 days or so) add the 2nd 24 hr turbo?
would this still chance killing the yeast or getting stuck?
24hr turbo question

Re: 24hr turbo question
Greetings, CGOkie...
You won't find many admirers of any turbo yeast around here... Granted, you're only running 14.1% ABV sugar washes but you're still gonna end up with a lot of off taste and smell from the high dose of chemical nutrients... It would be cheaper and easier to go with one of the Tried and True recipes here in these forums... Both my All Bran and Gerber recipes can ferment to 14.1% in 3 - 4 days and distill clean neutral spirits without the need for fining agents or carbon filtering... Several of the other recipes do the same such as Deathwish Wheat Germ, Wineos Plain Old Sugar Wash, and Birdwatchers... Oh, and they can all do 14.1% ABV with bakers yeast or EC1118...
Good luck...

Re: 24hr turbo question
Greetings and thank you rad!
I myself am not a fan of turbos, I learned the basics with them but got off that train quickly..LOL I have a recipe (grains, syrup, EC-1118 etc) I use for me and my buddies (we drink it strait) My girlfriend and her friends mix there drinks but don't care for the taste of it for some reason.. maybe because I don't use a reflux still and, I'm not sure but I made that sugar wash with the turbo and they liked it so....
The girls don't go threw that much.. LOL but they or having a "girls weekend" soon and are on my tail about getting some made and I'm not sure how to go about in with the 24 hr..
I should have found a girlfriend that didn't drink!!! LOL

Male or female, drunk babysitting is not a fun thing to do... Been there, done that... It gets old after the first time... Well, actually, it gets old during that first time...

If it's a decent looking female, then drunk babysitting can be really fun!rad14701 wrote:Male or female, drunk babysitting is not a fun thing to do... Been there, done that... It gets old after the first time... Well, actually, it gets old during that first time...
