Giving Stilling a bad name
If anybody has the physical address of Turbo Stomper Stills in CO. Owned by Paul Caballoro, I would appreciate it if you can send it to me. They are taking peoples money and not sending them the stills they ordered. Wish I would have known about this site before I ordered.
Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
terribly sorry to hear that... I built mine to avoid any problems such as this one, and plus it gets you to understand exactly whats going on, as you built the damn thing
There's a thread somewhere on this forum dealing with companies such as the one that ripped you off. There seems to be quite a few rip-off artists in the still making industry... which is a shame since most home distillers nowadays are far from being criminals and it makes us "legit" shiners look like crooks. (notice the quotes on legit?)
And just thinking of it, there should be some physical adress on the website or where ever you ordered the still from.
The internet is full of con and rip off artists, don't ever buy from anybody that isn't reputable, or worse yet, if you don't even know where they are actually located.
Anyway hope you do get youre still or money back. If you bought it with a credit card you should have no problem geting it back (the money) if you make a complaint to the credit company, but theres usually a months delay or so before you do get it back which is kind of sucky.

Good luck to you!
I think the reason that there are so many shady dealings in these "grey market" operations in that the scammer is counting on the fact that most victims will not want to contact law enforcement and report that they haven't received their "questionably legal" product.
Sort of like the man who called 911 to report that his cocaine had been stolen!

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
Just remember by Law, all producers of stills are supposed to keep a record of who they sold it to. If they want to call your bluff, just mention the statute:
Its really putting them on the table...but sometimes a dare is a dare.
Good luck.
Alerting the TTB to their practice might make them very uncomfortable, especially if you have to subpeona their records to prove your case in court.Under regulations in part 29 of title 27, Code of Federal Regulations, TTB has the right to require manufacturers of stills to give us the name and address of each customer. If we choose to impose this requirement, we inform the manufacturer of the stills by letter.

I wish I had come across this site before ordering. I have just contacted my credit card fraud department for a reversal of all charges. Over 8 weeks and I have not received a thing. My card was billed for the full amount at once. I was told it would be charged half at order and half at the time of shipping. Now the "fun number to call" goes straight to a generic voice mail and calls go unreturned. Their email contact information has been removed from the site. So has their "LIVE" customer support feature.
Anyone have anymore information on Paul Cavalloro and the "new" turbo stomper website? He sure seemed like a nice guy on the telephone and the live customer support (when available). He answered all my questions, etc, took the time to explain in detail anything I asked. Why not deliver the product as described and promised?
Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
I nearly got sucked in by those two shysters when I was first looking for information on distilling. Using "desolate" for "distillate" was one tipoff, I thought, among other things. Fortunately I discovered this site before I rushed headlong into I knew not what
. Thanks again, everyone who has contributed their knowledge and experience.

Also, having been robbed more than once (and not only from online thugs) I have a very special place in my heart for thieves. Stick it to them good, and get a pound of flesh for me, while you are at it.

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
Sir,
You would be correct in the fact that they are related. From what I have read about both turbostomper and stilldrinkin is that this Paul guy had started with stilldrinkin. He claims thay took his ideas then through him out of they'r operation. So you have two of these idiots making stills. And yes, very skanky woman. Now on the other hand, milehigh stills has some hot looking woman. Check out that site. The stills are actually quite nice, but I had built my own still anyway. Good luck, sorry to hear about a fellow stiller getting the shaft up his colum

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
Dunno that it's giving stilling a bad name but it should be giving these shysters one. Apparently not though. The pity is that people come here after buying an unpolished turd rather than before. I somehow suspect that trying to take these blokes to court would be the same as calling the cops because your meth lab has been vandalised, and, they know it.

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
Did a little research and this guy is listed on the ripoffreport.com and scamcheck.com The BBB has a file on him and I can't find any business licenses or corporations registered under his name. I have been through the State site and Denver city and county and can't find anything. I still working on it and I'll see what else I can dig up
What I did find so far is interesting, besides the 2 site listed I have found 2 others that are using the same pictures and almost identical website all marketing the turbo stomper. They are registered to 2 different individuals David and Nancy but you may find they are all connected. David has his city listed as Wheatridge and Paul has an address in the same city, no way is that a coincidence! Nancy listed is actually friends with this Paul on Facebook, I think she's his sister. http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Cavalloro/550820497" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow. I found another phone number on him 720-495-6626 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 720-495-6626 end_of_the_skype_highlighting, he is offering ho his services as a driver for $20 an hour. Maybe you could hire him while you are in town? This site shows today's date http://partyables.com/still-plans.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow He is extending to pot and mushrooms LOL. Now Nancy is listed on the new site with Paul. She also has a company at the Denver address listed as Blow Your Top Off. Not too shabby for about 30 minutes worth of digging. BTW I'll keep at it, I love being nosy!

BTW the guy who owns the duplex for the address they are using is Ricardo E. Gallegos and he's also friends with both on Facebook. He works with Nancy at Regional Transport District. I also conformed that Nancy is Paul's sister. I'm sure a few calls to the employer would stir up some problems.......

Here are a few more names to add to the websitesthat Paul is associated with.
turbostomper.com
turbostompermoonshinestills.com
stillplans.net
Please beaware of this crook, they do not deliver on time, the packages do not come complete and they do not ever return phone calls.
They are also selling on Ebay under the seller name of still-builder.
The more I read on here now, the madder I get. Paul is a total scam artist.
Buck.board how did it go in Denver? Is your case still pending. Please let me know. Thanks

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
If you don't mind me saying so, the term "artist" I'm assuming you are using lightly. Are there any official charges or complaints brought against them that anyone know of? I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the official address that the "scammer" used to register the site/business belongs to an estranged relative or his baby's momma. Either way, even considering what the product is, I'm sure officials will take more notice to the scammer versus the nature of our hobby.......I hope.

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
I ordered it, received it , now making 85% 170 proof good drinking stuff that will only get better as I learn, then I can figure out which still to build to do a better job, but for now the beginners have a still that works, easy to run, will keep us growing and learning in the distilling hobby.
If we had to spend a thousand to get a still, or take 6 months to learn how to make one and run it, we would have never got started in the hobby, hell my Great Grandfather could have show us how to do it, I know my Uncles use to tell me of going in the kitchen in the little shotgun house and he would have mash going behind the stove in the winter.
But the art was never pasted on, coal started selling, so people had plenty of work, if not money, so family's went to working in the mines together on their lands.

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
Well I notice when you search for stills or turbo stompers nothing from here comes up in the search to stop anyone from buying one
Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
@ handymanherb,
If you use the ‘HD Google Search’ on the top of the page it will reveal 11,400 hits for ‘Still’ and 121 hits for ‘Turbo Stomper’.
It has been discussed numerous times through the Home Distiller Forum that the phpBB forum software which is used at the Home Distiller Forum “Search” is lacking but that ‘HD Google Search’ is the preferred “Searcher” to use.
Regards,
Coaster
