Maybe I got a little too bit comfortable
Maybe I got a little bit too comfortable too fast. I have posted where I should not have once after no one answered a post So I just posted a link to this site to where this person could get some answers he might be looking for. Was sent a PM about it and was told they would not delete by someone else might. Sent PM back and said yea I figured that much, that is why I posted just read this and a link. Poor guy got that deleted and no other explanation. I understand that I am not supposed to post in that category but I did. Delete it and give an answer for the question, don't leave them hanging.
Well I did it again with an off topic remark ( sorry about that Larry it was on your post) but it was about the fact you didn't want to heat the kitchen. So I mentioned that we were using wood stove here and that we use it to cook with so we would not waste propane. It was split off on off topic and did not make sense as it was and I just deleted it. If I ever do it again just delete it and don't worry about it. I doubt it will happen for a while because it will be a while before I log in again.
I apologize to everyone I offended.

Re: Maybe I got a little too bit comfortable
I doubt if anyone will get their undies in a twist about it, but in future, if you decide to tell anyone about this place, my humble recommendation would be to point them towards the home site, not the forum, and earnestly encourage them to read EVERYTHING. At least once if not twice, then and only then poke their toes into the forum.
They can download the entire archive via zip file and learn a lot, if not all, about the hobby. Then, when they're not still wet behind the ears, they can post and not embarrass.
That's what I did a couple of years ago, and other than my contrary opinions regarding ink, I've been treated most graciously.
Just my $0.02

Was your post in the Q/A with mentors? If so, what part of the rules of that forum confuse you?

Re: Maybe I got a little too bit comfortable
A Willow and a Poplar were growing next to each other when a tremendous storm came along. The Poplar said "I will stand strong. If I am strong and do not bend, then I shall not break."
The willow allowed himself to flow with the wind and the night was passed in such a way.
The next day the willow righted itself slowly and the poplar laughed. "You should not let the wind push you around so much."
"It is, as it is." said the willow.
Many years later, the forces of several storms eventually broke the poplar off and it lay on the ground surrounded by young poplar trees.
A tremendous storm came up and the little poplars all sang together " We shall stand strong. If we are strong and do not bend, then we shall not break."
The willow laughed and said "Didnt you learn anything from your father?"

I did not say I was going to bail or run away with my tail tucked. It was an apology for going to fast and getting over zealous. I am taking some advise and as said in a PM "slowing my role". Added a signature explains what I have done, which is nothing but read. And if I am wrong tell me, I been around for a while I can take it. I'm not crying and all upset, life is rolling on.

Stay safe, and comfortable.
Nope, true that.. all entry badges are in copper or stainless now. And held together with flour and water paste.

Sorry, had to be done!

Well that's 8 posts today so far, I guess you are getting comfortable again, just posting for the sake of posting. Your post rate is more than some Mentors or Moderators whose job is to reply to questions from members, which points out you are nothing more than a Troll. If you can't contribute to a subject without repeating what has already been stated DONT post.

If you don't like me boot me! Just so happens I got a lot of time on my hands to read being that my 10 year old son has had an operation and I need to be home to help my wife with him. I choose to come here but if you don't want me here, you have the power to boot me, either do it or back-off.olddog wrote:Well that's 8 posts today so far, I guess you are getting comfortable again, just posting for the sake of posting. Your not going to get the boot, no one wants that. What can I do to help you get in the game? If you have a lot of time on your hands it's a good tome to get this show on the road.

Tried to send a reply but it got lost in the system, I think.
Quite possibly I forgot to click on 'submit!'
Anyway, Az, hang in there.
Enthusiasm and seeking after knowledge is great; just be careful that after you get knowledge and experience (not that I claim those for myself) you don't end up a grumpy old fart like me!
Best.

Thanks RD I don't want handouts or sympathy, I want to be able to converse with others and learn what I can. But if something I see that might not have been thought about I think I should share and help being that everything I have read here has helped me. I want to pay it forward but not be in the way either.

I'm sorry AzFramer. I'm having a bit of police trouble at the moment and my stress levels are peaking, but that was no reason to be rude to you about your seeking a badge. I'm truly delighted to see you back with us comfortable and posting the occaisional post.

I wasn't offering a hand out and I'm the most unsympathetic guy I know. I want to see more people distilling and that means you. If I can corrupt you and help you get some practical knowledge and experience that's my number one motive for being here.
A wise man once said, "Making good liquor doesn't take book learning, it takes doing". So how about we go make some booze?

Az.... Advice is cheap round here. Lots of it to go around. Some of it from people who read about doing things. Some of it from people who done it. Which one you want to learn from? (that's a rhetorical question). No need to apologize for whatever it is you want to do. We got all kinds here.

Well the only thing stopping me is getting the pieces for the still head. That takes money that is not available for me to spend. If I was working full time I would have already been there. When I catch that break and get something distilled you all will know about it for sure.

My dad was talking to a new neighbor that just moved in. Some 18 year old kid came stomping up asking them if they seen anyone around his moms house. Both said no. The kid said that someone stole his moms window unit (Air conditioner) The new neighbor thought he was saying they might have done it. My dad told the kid " don't worry about it son they will bring it back when they get their first Gulf Power bill.
