The hd family.

Post by Thorn_veritas »

Hey guys just sitting here thinking bout how this place is like a big old school family. I mean really for a bunch of guys ( mostly ) that have never met we all seem to celebrate 1 anothers birthday , worry about health issues ( get better od ), share wisdom knowledge and just good old stories from yrs gone by. How many other forums can boast a connection like that? I myself lost my father at a young age and my family all sort of went there own way I have not talked to nearly any1 in my family in years. But when I come here to hd and we all chat and compliment/ advise one another it makes me feel like were all connected in some weird way.

I dont know if im just being all sentimentle ( ? ) because its xmas here now or what. But its just how I feel.

But I would like to wish every1 here in " the family " a very merry christmas and a happy new year.

So am I the only1 that thinks this? Let me know please im very interested to find out.

Thanks Tim

True dat. I gotta laugh, we may be the only "family" that could all be in a room together and never even know it.

 No way I would claim any you vagabonds as family. :P More like partners in crime. But I do appreciate the company. Your the only folks I can talk to about my likker who won't ask for a bottle every other week.

Some ways this place is better than a family. If somebody pisses ya off, you can turn off the computer and not talk to anybody for a couple weeks. When you cool down, come back, and give any old lame excuse or no excuse at all, and nobody calls you on it or gets in a huff.

I've been a part of a lot of forums, but this place is the most level headed. Haven't heard from anybody that strikes me as annoying, couldn't spend a weekend with 'em hunting or fishing or working on a car. All the other boards I'm on, half the people are alright and the other half you want to punch in the nose. Not this place. Good group of folks all.

Yep seems lot like family to me.. I have a mental picture of most of you guys and some I have met on skype so I know what they look like.. I feel like I have known most of you for a long long time... Like MK said though. I thinks its pretty funny we could all be in the same room and never know who is who..

Well... I'm stuck here with my wifes family up North... a "blizzzud" is on the way... I dont know if I'd call it hangin' out with the in-laws, or hangin' in with the outlaws! (Not that any of em are criminals, I just think the name outlaws fits better than inlaws!) Been here five days now and bout to go crazy! Cant wait to get home! Now it wont be tonight (all flights canceled!)... and may not be tomorrow night with 20+ inches of snow rollin in!

Its this forum and the HD family thats kept me sain here!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

It was empty Steve. You put it in the trash. Happy New Year to you and your family and to the rest of the HD bunch. Tell your Dad to save me a tab of that good Ginger Wine. Mine has to age some more.

Will do Bert.... The plumb wines coming along nicely, crystal clear... When I get time I'm gonna run 30L of plumb wine through the pot and make a brandy... I'll bottle the rest, but it sure does taste good...

All the best to you an your folks for the coming year.... :D

ps: The bottles now full again Bert...
Man you gotta love this hobby, didn't even buy any commercial and it came in handy for a few Xmas prezzies too... :D :D :D
