Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Moonrunners?

might take a while to download because it's so rare, but:

Re: Daownloading movies
I would be inclined to say DONT. Buy it on amazon or another legitimate source.
As I understand it we here are all about legitimizing home distilling. Those in countries where it is illegal to distill do so as it doesn't significantly affect anyone else and the laws are often non-nonsensical.
Movie piracy - directly affects the industry and is illegal for a good reason.

Re: Daownloading movies
couldn't immediately find it, and seeing as it's 35 years old, i think it's out of copyright, but it is definitely out of print and thus legally has no legitimate source. it's only copyright infringement if the product is actually available as a saleable item.
same kinda thing for abandonware etc.
if i didnt think it was abandoned, i wouldnt have posted. i use isohunt for downloads of various linux distros, and this was one of the points i remember from the notes about the legal battle they are having.
although i do agree with you.
i try to order originals, but sometimes it just isnt possible, and life just wouldnt be the same without obscure eighties kids programs to watch while i work!

That movie has an automatic 95 year copyright protection... 28 years original with an automatic 67 year extension...

Re: Daownloading movies
didnt think second hand counted legally, but then its not something i have ever really worried about.
quite happy to stand corrected though
most software and media firms really dont like the second hand trading of anything, and see that as an annoyance.
as the guys say, if you can get a legal copy then do so.
but as ever, it's your call pumpman.
i prolly shouldnt have posted the link, but whats done etc.
in fact rad, if you wanna delete the post it's prob not a bad idea.

Re: Daownloading movies
If members had any idea of how many infected music and video downloads I find on customer computers they would think twice about pirating copyrighted materials... In fact a recent study determined that as many as 1 in 6 torrent downloads is infected with one form of threat or another...

Re: Daownloading movies
apparently moonrunners is still copyright, but has been given over to public domain. you can actually watch the whole thing online if you like!
http://wn.com/Moonrunners" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
free and legal? now theres a rarity!
still though, it's nice to have the disc.
and yeah rad, i see where youre coming from. large part of why i moved over to ubuntu from windows. i got really sick of having to reinstall, or finding my bloody homepage had been set to chickwithdicks.com or somesuch. still possible with unix i know, but 18 months so far (touch wood) without a hiccup! now i just have to wrestle with the mrs' pooter.
*grumble grumble bloody windows grumble*
i found a much better way around the music thing though.
in the pub trade, i found that i could actually write cds off as a business expense! the tax man bought me my cd collection, which i then ripped to mp3. theres nothing quite as satisfying as when the performing rights society come to "randomly check for consistency" and you can hand over a wheeled suitcase full of discs, point em at the stereo computer and say "help yourselves boys." they must have had an anonymous tip that i was using illegal mp3s, because the actually sat and went through a 400+ disc collection and checked it against the computer!
score one to me!
hehe

Re: Daownloading movies
Thanks for all the info guys, but I didn't say I wanted to get it unlawfully. That would be wrong.
